Terms and Conditions
In the event of any discrepancy between these Terms and Conditions and any other Coast 2 Country Campers literature, the provisions of these Terms and Conditions apply.
1. RESERVATIONS
Reservations for hires less than 8 weeks from the time of booking must be paid for in full.
Reservations for hires more than 8 weeks from time of booking can be secured with a £100 non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance must be paid 8 weeks prior to hire date.
All prices are quoted and charged in £ (GBP).
Payment is only accepted by credit card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) or debit card (Visa Debit or UK Maestro).
Reservations will be confirmed by email once the online booking process has been completed and payment has been made. These terms, conditions and cancellation policies apply from the time you receive your booking confirmation.

* excluding any insurance loading. Extra charges may be incurred if the driver to be insured has a driving conviction, is a young or senior driver or is in an occupation which is deemed high risk. See Section 3 for full details.
** Coast 2 Country Campers will supply full breakdown cover to cover any breakdown for mechanical faults to the vehicle. Any call out charges incurred as a result of hirer error or negligence e.g. a flat vehicle battery, wrong fuel added, keys locked in vehicle etc to be met by the Hirer.
3. INSURANCE
Driver(s) must be aged between 23 and 79. Additional fee will be applied if under 23.
Driver(s) must have held a full valid driving licence for at least 24 months.
Driver(s) must hold a valid licence from the UK, Ireland, EU, USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand. We are unable to provide insurance cover for any driving licence issued outwith one of these countries. Any bookings made with driving licences not covered will be cancelled.
Additional driver(s) in addition to the main hirer must be recorded and signed on for on the Hire Drive Proposal form. All divers must be present at the time of vehicle collection.
Campers must not be used for the carriage of goods of an explosive, dangerous or hazardous nature or for the carriage of goods or passengers for hire and reward.
All drivers holding a UK licence must provide the following at point of collection:
a) Driving Licence Photo Card
b) Online DVLA Licence Check Code
c) 2 separate forms of proof of address i.e. Bank Statement or Utility Bills (Excluding Mobile Phone Bills) which must be dated within 90 days of the hire start date.Your rental will be cancelled without refund if we are unable to check or validate any of the above.
All drivers holding a non-UK licence must provide the following at point of collection:
a) Driving Licence Photo Card
b) Secondary form of photo ID i.e. passport
c) 2 separate forms of proof of address i.e. Bank Statement or Utility Bills (Excluding Mobile Phone Bills) which must be dated within 90 days of the hire start date.Your rental will be cancelled without refund if we are unable to check or validate any of the above.
You must declare at the time of booking if there are any endorsements on your driving licence. Coast 2 Country Campers may not be able to provide cover for you to drive the vehicle if you have more than 6 penalty points imposed on your driving licence. Charges may apply for penalty points above this level. Failure to declare any accidents or driving convictions will invalidate your insurance.
Drivers are liable for any legal penalties (parking fines, speeding tickets etc) incurred during the hire period. In addition to recovering the required amount, an administration fee of £50 will also be applied to all penalties received by Coast 2 Country Campers.
We are unable to offer driver(s) insurance under the following circumstances:
a. Drivers under 23 and over 79 years of age
b. Drivers who have not held a full valid driving licence as outlined above for at least 24 months.
c. Any driver(s) who fail to present all the correct documentation and identification on collection of the vehicle or if the documentation does not meet the driver requirements set out in the Terms and Conditions, will be unable to hire the vehicle. No refunds will be given.
d. Persons who have been convicted of an offence in connection with the driving of a motor vehicle or motorcycle and/ or have had their licence endorsed or suspended or more than 6 penalty points imposed. Spent convictions, covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act1974 may be disregarded.
e. Persons who had their insurance declined and/or renewal refused and/or special insurance terms imposed as a result of claims experience and/or have had their insurance or cover cancelled by any Motor Insurer
f. Persons engaged wholly or partly in professional entertainment or professional sports persons.
g. Jockeys and persons connected with racing of any sort.
h. Undergraduates and/or students under 25 years of age.
i. Persons who, whilst driving, have been involved in more than one accident during the past 3 years.
j. Foreign Service Personnel other than persons holding a full valid United Kingdom or EU licence for two years or more.
On all cases, the insurance company has the final say.
The insurance covers damage to the vehicle and property of third parties but does not include any personal insurance for the hirer or party members including death or bodily injury. Personal possessions are not covered and Coast 2 Country Campers strongly recommend hirers take out their own insurance to cover these events.
The following are not covered by insurance, therefore the hirer accepts full liability for these, which is in addition to the standard vehicle excess/security deposit should that apply.
Mechanical problems e.g. clutch/gearbox due to driver negligence.
Any damage caused by a negligent act.
Replacement or repair of glass, wheel and tyre damage or rectification due to incorrect fuelling.
Missing tools, equipment or spares.
4. SECURITY DEPOSIT / EXCESS
The hire is subject to a security deposit which covers both the insurance excess in the event of a first incident, or reported incident, and the proper return of the vehicle in same condition as it was let out to the hirer.
In the event of any additional incident(s), a second security deposit will be required in order to continue with the rental.
A security deposit of £1,000 taken as a pre-authorisation on the hirer’s credit or debit card at the time of collection (Visa or Mastercard). No other form of payment is accepted. The card used for the security deposit should be in the lead driver’s name and the amount will be held on your card immediately.
In the event of any damage to the vehicle or third party property, the hirer will be liable for the excess amount.
The security deposit is fully refundable within 28 days of return of the vehicle provided there are no outstanding insurance claims or the following conditions:
a. This security deposit will be used to fund any loss or damage whatsoever to equipment, fixtures, fittings, windows, cleaning fees, tyres or negligent damage to the vehicle. A £50 administration fee and 2.5% payment processing fee will be applied in addition to any costs for any loss or damage to your vehicle or any item contained within.
b. The security deposit will be used to fund any road traffic violation administration fees.
c. The security deposit will be used to fund any required cleaning fees:
i. A valeting fee of up to £150 will be charged against the deposit if the vehicle is not returned with the interior in a clean condition.
ii. An additional fee of £350 will be charged if it is found that smoking has been permitted in the vehicle.
iii. An additional £150 will be charged if an unauthorised pet has been carried in the vehicle.
d. The security deposit will be used to fund any refuelling costs arising from not returning the vehicle without a full tank of fuel. A £30 administration fee will be applied in addition to any costs for refuelling.
e. The hirer agrees to pay Coast 2 Country Campers any additional costs over and above the security deposit value should damages exceed the security deposit value within 28 days of your hire.
In the event of an insurance claim, regardless of fault, the security deposit will be retained until the insurers have settled the claim. Please note, this can be a lengthy process and is out of Coast 2 Country Campers control.
·The hirer irrevocably authorises Coast 2 Country Campers to deduct from the security deposit any amounts due to Coast 2 Country Campers arising out of this agreement.
Please note, Coast 2 Country Campers reserve the right to increase the insurance excess.
5. COLLECTION AND RETURN
Collection and return of the vehicle from Coast 2 Country Campers, 5 Mid Road, Blairlin Industrial Estate, G67 2TT.
Collection
Collection of the vehicle is strictly between 2pm – 4pm on your day of collection unless otherwise agreed by Coast 2 Country Campers.
Please allow 1 hour in order to complete all paperwork and to allow time for us to show you the workings and features of the vehicle.
All drivers must present original documentation as set out in Section 3 above. Photocopies will not be accepted.
The main hirer must pay the security deposit as set out in Section 4 above.
The vehicle will not be released until identification and driving licence checks are completed and the security deposit paid.
Vehicle will be handed over in a clean condition and in sound working order in accordance with the Vehicle Condition Report in the hire proposal form.
Please note, Coast 2 Country Campers make every effort to have your vehicle ready for collection at the appropriate time, however, during busy periods there may be some delays which are out of our control. Should this be the case, no refunds will be due to you and no extension of your hire can be made as the vehicle will still be required to be returned in accordance with the details set out in your rental agreement.
Return
Return of the vehicle is strictly before 11am on your day of return unless otherwise agreed by Coast 2 Country Campers.
Please allow 30 minutes to complete the return documentation and check the vehicle.
Vehicles must be returned undamaged with a full tank of fuel, a clean interior and in the same condition as they were provided.
Charges will apply if the vehicle is returned with additional damage, the fuel tank is not full or the vehicle is unclean.
A £50 fee will apply if the toilet waste cassette is not returned emptied.
There are no refunds for early returns and charges apply for late returns.
Should for any reason, the hirer fails to return the vehicle to Coast 2 Country Campers, the hirer accepts that they are liable for the full cost to recover the vehicle back to the Coast 2 Country Campers depot and for any daily rental fees for the vehicle for the period which it is off the road as the result of not returning the vehicle to the depot by the agreed return time.
Late Return
Coast 2 Country Campers must be notified immediately to prevent any prosecution for driver(s) driving whilst uninsured. Late returns will be charged at one day’s rental cost regardless of circumstances.

6. CANCELLATION BY COAST 2 COUNTRY CAMPERS
Coast 2 Country Campers reserve the right to cancel a reservation before or at the proposed commencement of hire as follows:
a. Hirer does not provide a valid passport and driving licence as proof of ID.
b. If Named Driving Licence is not produced or valid in accordance with stated conditions.
c. If a UK driver(s) fails to provide access to information on the counter part driving licence held on the DVLA website.
d. Hirer fails to provide funds for security deposit payment (standard excess) by credit card or debit card.
e. Over occupancy of vehicle in accordance with the provision of seatbelts.
f. The address on driving licence does not match billing address where additional proof of ID is not supplied.
g. In the event of an operational issue affecting the rental fleet. Under these circumstances we will do our upmost to provide you with an alternative vehicle however this may not be to the exact same specification.
i. Such substitution shall not entitle you to any refund and does not constitute a breach of this Agreement.
ii. The hirer is not liable for any increased rental charges from the substitute vehicle.
h. Hirer is in breach of any terms in this agreement.
i. The hirer obtained the vehicle through fraud or misrepresentation.
j. If any statement, representation or warranty made by the hirer in respect of themself or additional drivers is incorrect.
k. Coast 2 Country Campers reasonably believes the vehicle will not be returned on the agreed return date.
l. Coast 2 Country Campers considers on reasonable grounds that the safety of passengers or the vehicle is in danger. The hirer understands that in the event of such termination or repossession that the hirer has no right to a refund or any part of the rental charges or the security deposit.
m. In the event of an operational issue.
Please note Coast 2 Country Campers liability is limited to the refunds of all rental monies paid by the hirer. No compensation is payable for additional arrangements booked by hirer (e.g. flights, campsite or ferry bookings etc.). Coast 2 Country Campers strongly recommend hirers take out their own insurance to cover these events.
Coast 2 Country Campers reserve the right to amend our cancellation policy for certain events.
7. CANCELLATION OR CHANGE BY HIRER
In the event of a cancellation by the hirer the following charges shall be incurred:
a. 4 weeks prior to rental to no show: 100% of total hire charge.
b. 6 weeks to 4 weeks prior to rental: 50% of total hire charge.
c. More than 6 weeks prior to rental: 20% of total hire charge.
Credit card and debit card charges are non-refundable. An administration fee of £50 will be charged on the processing of any refund.
Customers are advised to check their own travel insurance policy in the event of a cancellation by the hirer. Coast 2 Country Campers will not be liable for any cancellation costs to hirer.
Amendments to reservation dates will be accommodated where possible and are subject to availability and any increase in price. A £50 administration fee applies to any changes. No refund will be given if the value of the hire for the new dates is of lesser value than the original booking.
8. EVENTS OUT WITH HIRER OR COAST 2 COUNTRY CAMPERS CONTROL
Events out with either the hirer or Coast 2 Country Campers control (Force Majeure) may require rentals to be postponed or cancelled. These events may include (but not limited to) war, terrorism, earthquakes, hurricanes, acts of government, plagues, epidemics or pandemics. In such events Coast 2 Country Campers shall:
Allow hirers to amend reservation dates free of charge.
Coast 2 Country Campers will not be liable for any refunds where the hirer decides not to amend their reservation date free of charge.
Coast 2 Country Campers will not be liable for any refunds of deposit payments made where the hirer decides not to amend the reservation date free of charge. We will however allow deposit payments to be used against future bookings with Coast 2 Country Campers.
Coast 2 Country Campers strongly recommend hirers take out their own insurance to cover these events.
9. USE OF THE VEHICLE
During the rental period, the hirer agrees that the vehicle will not be:
Driven other than in a cautious, prudent and normal manner or used in a manner which could cause damage.
Driven in a prohibited area.
Driven by a person under the influence of alcohol or drugs or with a blood alcohol level in excess of that permitted by law.
Driven by a person who is unauthorised to drive the vehicle.
Driven by any person who is not authorised by law to drive the vehicle.
Used to carry more persons than seats or seat belts provided.
Left with the ignition key in or on the vehicle or unlocked while it is unoccupied (invalidates insurance).
Damaged by submersion in water or in contact with salt water.
Used for any illegal purpose for any race, rally or contest.
Used to tow any vehicle or trailer.
Used to carry passengers or property for hire or reward.
Used to carry volatile liquids, gases, explosives or other corrosive or inflammable material.
Driven on any road surfaces other than sealed / bitumen roads.
10. BREAKDOWN AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE
All faults or damage must be reported immediately to Coast 2 Country Campers or at the latest on return of the vehicle.
The hirer will take all reasonable steps to properly maintain the vehicle whilst on hire including checking oil and coolant levels, tyre pressures, washer fluid levels and batteries.
The hirer will be liable for any costs associated with the incorrect use of fuel. All Coast 2 Country Campers vehicles run on diesel.
24 hour Roadside Assistance is provided under the hire contract. In the unlikely event of a breakdown, the hirer should seek the help of the breakdown company quoting the registration number of the vehicle.
Hirers are permitted to authorise repairs up to the value of £100 if the fault falls out with the parameters of manufacturer warranty.
Repairs costing in excess of £100 must be authorised by Coast 2 Country Campers PRIOR to any work being undertaken. The Hirer is responsible for any repairs costs above £100.00 when approval is not obtained first.
The hirer shall be solely responsible for the costs of repair and/or replacement as necessary in relation to damage to windscreen, tyres and punctures.
11. RESPONSIBILITY WHEN AN INCIDENT OCCURS:
In the event of any accident, loss or damage arising out of the use of vehicle including damage to a third party vehicle, the hirer will:
Notify Coast 2 Country Campers on 0141 732 8989 within 24 hours of the event.
Obtain the names and address of third parties and any witnesses and report the event to the nearest police station.
Not make any admittance of liability or make a settle offer to other parties.
Assist Coast 2 Country Campers in handling any claim arising from the event.
Acknowledge that the excess or other amount due in respect of any damage arising from an accident, loss or damage is payable at the time of reporting the event and not at the completion of the rental period, regardless of which party is at fault.
Pay any costs relating to a change of vehicle as a result of an incident regardless of which party is at fault.
Accept that no security deposit/excess will be refunded until the claim is settled.
12. VIOLATION OF TRAFFIC LAWS AND REGULATIONS
Driver(s) are personally liable for all legal penalties and fees pertaining to any traffic violation infringements under the current Road Traffic Legislation applicable in the United Kingdom including Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Coast 2 Country Campers will contact the customer after the rental agreement finishes if any traffic violation infringements are presented to Coast 2 Country Campers for your hire period. The driver(s) will be liable for any penalties and fees pertaining to any traffic or parking violation that has been incurred during their hire period. An administration charge of £50 will be levied in addition to recovery of the specified fines.
13. SMOKING:
Smoking is not permitted in any Coast 2 Country Campers vehicle. Coast 2 Country Campers reserves the right to impose additional cleaning charges (as noted in section 4) should smoke be detected in the vehicle.
14. PETS:
Pets are not permitted in any Coast 2 Country Campers vehicle unless agreed with Coast 2 Country Campers and an additional fee has been paid. Coast 2 Country Campers reserves the right to impose additional cleaning charges (as noted in section 4) should non advised pets have been in the vehicle.
15. CHILD SEATS:
Regulations govern the use of child car seats in the United Kingdom requiring every child travelling in the vehicle to be seated using specified restraints in all circumstances where the child is under 135cm or 12 years of age.
It is the Hirer’s responsibility to ensure that necessary child seats are used in the vehicle if carrying children.
